Girl Giving ThanksWhat do you say to a waiter or waitress who returns to your table to refill your beverage glass? How about thank you? I know, that's his or her job, and it's because of customers like you that they have a job so they ought to be glad to serve you. All of that is true, but also everyone likes to feel appreciated, don't we now? A simple and genuine thank you to the waiter conveys a sense of appreciation, and to some people these words are more powerful than we might think.

One of the reasons I like the Thanksgiving Day holiday and season is because it helps us to focus on the important subject of thanksgiving. And yes, I know that once they join, that becomes their job. But again, everyone likes to feel appreciated. On that note, I say it's a good thing to show some love to that military family that you know and who can't be completely together this Thanksgiving Day because Mom or Dad is abroad in harm's way on our nation's behalf.
