We Celebrated Kate & William's Wedding With a BYOP Cocktail Party!
It was only a week ago that many of us were stumbling out of bed in the middle of the night to watch William and Kate get married in true royal British style. Whether you are a fan, enjoy the pomp and circumstance, a critic of the cost of the event or like Jerry Seinfeld, find it comic the way the British like to 'get all dressed up' at any chance they can, you have to admit, the event took over the media and our lives for a number of days. And we welcomed the distraction from all the devastating news from around the world.
To celebrate the event, we held a BYOP (bring your own prince or princess) Royal Cocktail Party on Friday evening. As the recording of the wedding played on the screen, our guests arrived in every kind of British inspired outfit from a ripped Sex Pistols t-shirt to a hot pink ascot and top hat to white gloves and floral dresses. Many of our guests found sites that focus on the frivolous and lighter side of the royal wedding, which they were good enough to forward to me as part of the celebration. I am sharing them with you below.
And to Katherine and William - I thought you did a great job at what must have been a tough public event. Whatever comes your way, please don't lose your sense of humor!
