This is the article that will make parents cringe. As someone who is getting ready to transfer to my third college, I know a thing or two about doing my research. Since many rising seniors will be looking at prospective colleges this year, I assumed that this list would be fitting. I compiled my list based on Playboy and The Princeton Review's rankings. So, here they are:

  1. The University of Georgia
  2. University of Colorado-Boulder
  3. Ohio University
  4. Penn State
  5. Arizona State University
  6. University of Mississippi
  7. University of Florida
  8. University of Texas-Austin
  9. University of Central Florida
  10. University of New Hampsire

Now, what exactly does it mean to be a "party school"? The Princeton Review got their data from thousands of students across the country, as did Playboy. Here is what one of my sources said:

"The Top Party School ranking is tabulated from information about alcohol and drug use on campus, hours spent (or not spent) studying, and Greek participation on campus. Yes, being on the top party list does indicate that a school probably has more than its share of partying, but there's no scientific way to "prove" that one place is more of a party college than another. Here's more on what it means to be a party school."

Here are some fun facts about each school:

  • University of Colorabo-Boulder is in the center of multiple marijuana dispensaries, four breweries, and world-class winter sports venues. Apparently, half of the undergraduates on campus turn out for the annual 4/20 "Smoke-a-Thon".
  • Arizona State University- the climate allows an annual "Undie Run" for charity and pool parties all year.
  • University of Georgia is a school filled with Southern belles, sorority, football, and alcohol.
  • Yale, while not on the list, is noted as having the best naked parties.
  • Butler University's parties around Final Four time are top-notch. I should know, I went to a fair share when I was there during my freshman year.
So, no matter where you or your future undergrad decide to go, these are the schools that are a guaranteed good time!
