Batman and Aquaman Inspired Vehicles to the Rescue at the LA Auto Show
(Los Angeles, November 30, 2012) The Batman-inspired Optima and Aquaman-inspired Rio 5-door custom cars arrived at the LA Auto Show this week following their reveal at October's SEMA show in New York City. Built by RIDES magazine and West Coast Customs, the cars feature DC Entertainment's Jim Lee's eye-catching artwork and are definitely ready for Justice.
The production and design team collaborated to help raise awareness for DC Entertainment's "We Can Be Heroes" giving campaign to help fight hunger in the Horn of Africa. For more information or to donate to the program, visit http://www.WeCanBeHeroes.org
The Batman-inspired Optima is matte and piano-black, with a low (and we mean low) coil over suspension, custom designed 20-inch black wheels and Batman logo center caps. Its custom black leather and suede seats are accent-stitched in bright yellow and the iconic Bat Signal is etched into the SXL's HID headlights. The front grille is batwing shaped and took over 40 hours to craft. This heroic car boasts Ksport performance brakes, performance exhaust system and can fight crime using the utility throwing stars poised on the center console.
Eighty-five percent of the Rio's materials are recyclable and Aquaman can rest assured that his reputation for protecting the environment is safe with KIA and DC. This 5-door has a dramatic custom paint job from West Coast Customs and metal fins are attached to help scare off the bad guys. Oracle LED wheel rings and body lighting compliment the 20-in Asanti wheels shrouded in Continental rubber. The seats are customized with green leather and feature yellow and gold accents and our heroe's logo. Aquaman loves music, so the designers included two monstrous 12-inch subwoofers and two coaxial component speakers.
