On Fridays, including this upcoming biggest shopping day of the year Black Friday, more cars are stolen than any other day of the week this year. In Denver, Colorado 5,311 cars have been stolen this year so far.

The most common passenger vehicle stolen as the Honda Accord, followed by the Honda Civic, Toyota Camry and Acura Integra. For pick-ups, the most common stolen was the Chevrolet 1500, followed by the Ford F-150 and Dodge Ram 1500. For those family and off-road SUV's, the most common stolen were Jeep Cherokees, Jeep Wranglers and Ford Explorers.

Stolen cars are more than a property issue. They are the means for further crimes such as drug deals and homicides. One man in his thirties who was later sentenced to prison for stealing cars, said he stole his first car at 13.

Hondas are easy to stealHe said he first looks for cars with no alarm system. Then he targets cars parked in dark areas. After securing both of those key factors needed to steal a car, he next breaks into the car and walks away. Finally, he comes back later and if the car is still there and unlocked, he steals it in seconds.

He claims that a Honda is the easiest car to steal because of the ignition system. It's that easy to steal a hundred cars.
