LA Auto Show Gets a Look at Bentley's Continental GT3 Concept Racer
(Los Angeles, November 30, 2012) Bentley hasn't been on the racing scene since 2003 when it won its historic 6th Le Mans victory, but break out the Champagne, times they are a changin'.
With it's characteristic understated flair, Bentley Motors proudly showed the beauty at this week's LA Auto Show in Los Angeles. According to Bentley, the "new Continental GT Speed is a refined, luxury grand tourer but which, if the driver demands, has a distinctly hard-edged sporting character." Sounds like Bentley is about to dominate the racing scene again.
The Continental GT3 is based on the GT Speed, the fastest road-going Bentley ever built (0-60 in 4 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph) and is made to survive and excel in any weather conditions. The rear-wheel drive chassis meets regulations and the top of the line hardware coupled with the aerodynamic design makes for a very impressive concept indeed. It is ripped, sculpted and ready for action. Built for endurance and pure speed, this handsome devil is ready to take on any event, including 24-hour marathons.
With the full support and encouragement of Dr. Schreiber, Bentley's Chairman and Chief Executive and under the watchful eye of racing's renowned Brian Gush, Bentley's Director of Chassis, Powertrain and Motorsport, the Continental GT Speed will continue to be developed over the next few months.
Watch for Bentley on the competitive Motorsport scene with an aggressive test program by the end of 2013.
