Three Common Problems with Kitchen Sinks
Kitchen sinks are one of the most used pieces of equipment in our kitchen, but also one of the most likely sources for problems. When it comes to kitchen sinks, for some unknown reason, we seem to live with problems for months on end, instead of fixing them.
From what I have encountered, these are the three most common problems, complete with easy solutions.
1) It is not uncommon for our kitchen sinks to give off a bad smell, but what we do not realise it is that usually the smell is hidden deep within the waste pipe and if no given attention it can give off a really foul smell for many months while it dissolves. There are many solutions to solve this problem; I recommend you try a few of them out to completely cure the smell. The main options I would recommend would be; pouring liquids such as bleach, baking soda, lemon juice and also vinegar down the sink can destroy the smell.
2) Next up,and probably the most common problem when it comes to our kitchen sinks is that annoying drip. A persistent drip is something that over time we often learn to live with. More often than not the simple reason for the drip will often be the fact that the washer needs replacing - this is an easy DIY task and won’t take long at all.
3) The third and final problem is normally water pressure; this is the most serious of the three and many houses suffer from low water pressure mainly in the kitchen. In some cases it can be a problem in a whole town, so make sure you check there is no work being done in the area before you start tampering with your sink. If you have only got a problem with you sink you need to check for leaks when you turn your tap on this can be a problem and the other main one is blockages in your pipes or taps.
