Thanksgiving BlessingsIt's so cliche to count your blessings on Thanksgiving Day, but to one man this Thanksgiving is very special indeed. Let me tell you a little about him. The man is newly married and newly blessed with a child.

Yes, yes, yes, all marriages and all children are blessings. However, this man is in his late 30's and his wife is nearly 40-years old. The man and his wife are blessed with a healthy baby boy.

No, the point is not that a man is blessed with a wife and a child at an old age. This is where the story gets interesting. The man now finds a treasure map in a sense.

Yes, he gets rich off of the treasure map. However, when the man chases after that treasure it costs him dearly. It costs the man his wife. It costs the man his child. The man's wife is not really interested in chasing a treasure map. His wife tells him that “it's the treasure or me.” The man chooses the treasure and chases after it. So his wife runs off, greatly offended.

No, the point is not that the man gets rich and loses his wife and child. Yet, the man does finds the treasure and becomes rich beyond belief.

The point is that the man wants his wife back and his child. He cries nearly every night having lost them both. He suffers physically and emotionally. He's a near total wreck.

Well, that may be what he deserves, but this man is graced with wealth beyond imagination. This man uses his new found wealth to chase after his wife.

So, a day before Thanksgiving last year and nearly one and a half years after having last seen or heard from his wife and child, this man receives a phone call from his wife. His wife needs his help. He uses his new found wealth to travels half-way across the country and a few days after Thanksgiving this man get his wife and child back.

So they live happily ever after? Let me finish, please, for you see that man is me. The treasure I found was God and his son Jesus Christ. So yes indeed, the man and his wife and child will live happily forever after their spiritual awakening.
