Essentials for Peaceful Living with Newborn Multiples
Having twin toddlers, I'm frequently asked by parents of new multiples what items were must-haves to maintain our sanity when the babies were born. I've narrowed my response to that inquiry down to five items, that either kept the babies wonderfully entertained, made my and their father's life a little easier, or both.

We remain convinced this multi-functioning peacemaker smoothed what could have been a rough transition. When they were tiny, we kept it set most often to water sounds with soft lighting. As toddlers, they enjoy DJ-ing between the various sounds, as well as making the fish dance. In short, it keeps them happy and gives us peace of mind in their bedtime routine .
Ultimate Crib Sheets, by Basic Comfort. I never knew what a chore it was to change a crib sheet until I was changing them in pairs.Thankfully, I was forewarned about the joys of 3 AM changings and how the mattress has to be taken completely out of the crib each time.
It sounded daunting enough with one baby, but with two I took no chances. Find these gems in any baby shop or infant gear website, and find them fast. Ensure you will always have a clean one on hand for each crib by getting two per baby. They are a bit pricey (~$20) for a sheet, yet they are worth every dime. Elastic bands snap around the slats of the crib, making changing a snap. And better still--they're waterproof, so you can keep the cute crib sheets pristine, underneath!
