Shaun the Sheep: We Wish Ewe a Merry Christmas (DVD release date: October 18, 2011) is the first holiday-themed DVD featuring Shaun, The Farmer, and their barnyard buddies. Shaun the Sheep is recommended for kids, ages two through sixty (yes, you did read “sixty”—Shaun has intergenerational appeal and many fans).

There are seven episodes on Shaun the Sheep: We Wish Ewe a Merry Christmas along with two bonus features. In “We Wish Ewe a Merry Christmas” the animals learn that The Farmer will be spending Christmas alone, so they give him a day to remember; while The Farmer is “Snowed In” and can’t get out of the farmhouse, the animals play in the snow; when Bitzer the dog catches a cold The Farmer gives him Pidsley the cat’s “Fireside Favorite” spot—Pidsley plans a coup.

Also included are: “An Ill Wind,” the result of The Farmer’s decision to build his own wind turbine which Shaun and his buddy convert to a ferris wheel; “Bitzer’s New Hat” is ugly but it is a gift from The Farmer—can Shaun find Bitzer’s old hat?; “Chip Off the Old Block” (The Farmer takes up sculpting which can be very harmful to teddy bears); and “Shirley Whirley,” an amusing story about two remote controls and the havoc they can cause. The two bonus features are “Sheep Shearing Game” and “Timmy Time Sneak Peek – Timmy’s Tune #1.”

In addition to spreading the holiday spirit, Shaun and his friends emphasize sharing, friendship, helping, cooperation, empathy, gratitude and other positive social attributes.
