One Less Study Links Vaccines to Autism - Page 3
I find logic in an opinion expressed by Temple Grandin, an internationally renowned and respected autistic author, and lecturer with a PhD. in animal science. An MSNBC article about an HBO movie documenting her life ,quotes Grandin as saying she was brought up in an era when manners where “drilled” into children. She believes many use the diagnosis of autism as an excuse for not expecting proper behavior from children. My husband and his father where brought up in the same time. Likewise, after many years of researching techniques for handling my son, I’ve concluded my parenting influences his behavior.
I’m concerned by the number of parents who continue to hold onto the idea about the link between vaccinations and autism, especially in light of the overwhelming number of studies which prove otherwise. I’m even more shocked that parents can stand on a study which had a sample size of only 12 children, particularly when the handling of these 12 samples has been declared to be unethical.
The scientific community is researching the causation of the staggering number of reported cases of autism. I’m seeing an increasing number of articles reporting a genetic link to autism. Additionally, I’m reading articles about researching environmental factors linked to the rise in autism. I’m satisfied there are enough studies completed to say there is no link between vaccinations and autism.
