The Mommy Blogger Backlash - Page 2
Mommy bloggers saw a little backlash earlier in 2009 when the FTC finalized revisions to its guidelines on endorsements and testimonial ads. New guidelines affected bloggers who receive free products in exchange for reviews. Stephanie Azzarone wrote about the FTC ruling’s affect on mommy bloggers, explaining that many bloggers receive free products from companies. The FTC did not target mommy bloggers, but they had to adjust and adapt to the new disclosure requirements.
Once again, mommy bloggers will need to adapt to this latest backlash. Is it a pervasive attitude that moms who blog and tweet are bad moms? Is it jealousy that moms are successful online? How can mommy bloggers balance parenting and posting without coming under fire?
