A Green Auto Sales Facility

Homes, offices, schools, sports arenas, just about any physical building can be certified LEED, the current industry standard for green buildings. So, it's not surprising that BMW has decided to hop onto the eco-friendly bandwagon by transforming its sales facility to become one that will be LEED certified.
ForexDice Daily Market News reports that construction plans of the $8 million, 50,000 square feet service facility has made it to headlines this past week because the glass structure, when completely finished, will sport environmentally friendly features that will earn it an LEED Silver certification by the Environment Protection Authority.
It might be a tad ironic that the hype surrounding the opening of the new facility is accompanied by its plans to feature the BMW X3, which is the company's newest SUV.
So, BMW's plan is to use an environmentally friendly building to showcase and sell SUVs?
This SUV is capable of 24 highway miles per gallon.
So, the questions is, is this a case of greenwashing or can both the sales facility and the vehicle be considered green?
