So, what was Robert’s inspiration to demonstrate social and environmental responsibility?

“As a kid, I worked in a greenhouse in Central Florida,” Robert said. “I was probably about 14 or 15 years old at the time and I was working for the head grower. He understood that the chemicals he was using were killing him, he would go out into the greenhouses and spray some of the nastiest agrochemicals and they would get all over him. He was a grower in the 60’s and 70’s, I met him in the 80’s so he had already two decades of exposure to toxic chemicals in his lungs and on his skin. Outside of the greenhouse on the farm, he would teach me how to kill weeds with saltwater instead of using chemicals. He died at the age of 68 from toxic poisoning and lung cancer due to years and years of exposures to these toxins.”

This motivated Robert to see to it that the workers that provide the product he sells to his clients would not go through the same hardships.

Robert McLaughlin and Organic Bouquet are fine examples of companies to support in their support of Mother Earth.
