Gretchen Blieler Does Her Bit Raising Environmental Awareness

The sports personality who has bagged a silver medal in the Olympics and four X Games gold medals as a snowboarder says in an interview by Denver Post that climate change "...has just been totally in my face, and I've seen the effects all around the world." Having traveled widely to compete with other professionals who zip down snow-capped slopes, she should know.
Having grown up skiing and snowboarding, Bleiler is very comfortable on snow capped mountains and says that the well-being of the environment is very dear to her.
She did her part promoting environmental awareness when she started a company called Alex Bottle. Her husband, her mother and her stepfather-in-law are all involved in the company's start-up. The slogan of this BPA-free, reusable stainless steel bottle is "Keep your insides as clean as your conscience."
This slogan makes sense as the ingenious design of this bottle allows eco-conscious users to split open the bottle for easy cleaning.
Every bottle comes apart into 3 parts (cap, top half, bottom half). In a family of multiple users, this allows for mixing and matching the parts to create different looks for a more highly evolved sense of individuality.
In addition, she's also just started a 21-Day Reusable Challenge to get others thinking about the many ways they can reduce waste in their daily lives and live more conscientiously.
For those who enjoy winter sports either as professionals or as aficionados, earlier springs and later winters simply mean less time and less opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. Taking better care of the earth not only protects our food supply, it also ensures that we can have fun on clean beaches in the summer and enjoy snow capped mountains in the winter.
