Reducing your carbon footprint on the planet is as easy as riding a bicycle. Bike to School Day is an annual Earth Day event for the Boulder Valley School District. Educators can create environmental awareness lesson plans using tips from The Nature Conservancy, The Wilderness Society, and The United States Environmental Protection Agency. Green thinking means thinking recycling. Participate in a zero waste Earth Day event like Rogue Valley Earth Day in Ashland, Oregon.

Join Sting at The National Mall in Washington, DC for the Earth Day 2010 Climate Rally. Combine Earth Day with your favorite outdoor activities like hiking and diving. Diving enthusiasts can join the Project Aware group in their Dive for Earth Day 2010 annual event. Being an environmental guardian means protecting Earth’s oceans and waterways, as well as the land. Take a hike with the Anacostia Watershed Society and remove trash along the Anacostia River in DC and Maryland. 60 tons of trash was removed during the 2009 AWS event.Continued on the next page
