Solar, Alternative Energy Tours Coming Your Way

Green Energy Ohio (GEO) is holding its annual 2010 Ohio Solar Tour on October 2 and 3rd for National Energy Awareness Month.
This is a free, statewide event that allows people to visit hundreds of local “Open House Sites” featuring solar, wind, biomass, and other forms of alternative energy sources and green design. GEO's 8th annual tour is a part of the National Solar Tour managed by the American Solar Energy Society, touted as the world's largest grassroots solar event.
Visiting neighbors, local farms, and schools that live and work with alternative power sources takes the mystery out of green technology for some, and gives them further information on how to cut their energy bill and take advantage of the many incentives Ohio offers for clean, green living.
The Ohio Solar Tour Welcome Page on the GEO website offers a search page where Ohioans can create their own “self-guided” tour of the 200 green energy locations throughout their state. They can print out maps of their tours and directions, as well as descriptions of each site. Pass by if you're in the state the first weekend of October, or visit Nationalsolartour.org to check out tours in your state.
