The Allure of the Seas, sister ship to the Oasis of the Seas arrives into Ft. Lauderdale this Thursday, November 11th at 8:30 a.m. The arrival is tied into a community event to honor Veteran’s Day. Local Charity organizations and businesses will help commemorate and recognize the proud men and woman who have served in the armed forces.

The Allure and Oasis are the world's largest cruise ships, at 225,282 gross registered tons each. There are a few differences between the two ships, namely the additional of a Starbucks, Guess Store, in cabin iPod docks and a few new restaurants.
The ship has a series of 2 day Inaugural sailings before her maiden voyage on December 1, 2010.

Many thought the Allure would not create the same hype among avid cruisers, but Royal Caribbean has done great job in creating excitement around the partnership with DreamWorks Animation. Cruisers will be able to meet and mingle beloved characters from movies such as Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar and Shrek. Throughout each cruise there will also be a Madagascar Aqua show with high divers, simmers and acrobats, character meals, photo opportunities and an ice show with characters from the movie “How to Train Your Dragon.”

The Allure also already has a roster of big-name entertainers scheduled.

  • Adam Sandler’s new movie “Jack & Jill,” starring Katie Holmes, Al Pacino and Shaquille O’Neil, will be filming several sets aboard the Allure of the Seas Cruise from November 12th through the 23rd. Sandler will be playing a duel role of a twin brother and sister. Most of the filming will take place on the upper decks of the ship, with the crew of Allure of the Seas included in some of the scenes of the movie as extras.

  • Taylor Swiftis scheduled to perform aboard Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas aboard the ship's seven-night Western Caribbean sailing that departs January 16th. The four-time Grammy Award winning artist will sing her biggest hits, along with selections from her new album, Speak Now in the outdoor AquaTheatre while the ship is docked in Cozumel on January 21, 2011.
