Cuba Holidays: A Treasure of White Sand
Cuba is the largest island in the Caribbean with a population of 11 million people. It is a beautiful place, accessible from anywhere in the world. In the island you can find much of the Latin American culture and a Spanish language spoken with a very funny accent. The island was a colony of Spain, so you can see much of that architecture and history. It is a country famous for its cigars, but that is not the only good thing that the nation has.
When speaking of Cuba we immediately think of a paradise with white sand beaches and crystalline waters. And of course, that's what you'll find when you get there. Since the amount of beaches is endless for the few days that tourists often enjoy during their Cuba holidays, we offer a guide with its five best beaches, or at least those with more charm.
The best known worldwide is Varadero, with its 20 kilometers of fine sand and shallow waters with a temperature always warm. Varadero has 28 dive sites and a wide variety of flora and fauna. You'll also find a wide range of resorts to enjoy the sea and all kinds of activities.
Another beach that little by little is being recognized worldwide is Santa Lucia beach, located about 110 kilometers northeast of Camaguey. Its waters are protected by the largest barrier reef of the island, which is also the second largest coral reef in the world after the Australian. It is ideal for diving.
The south of the island, in the municipality of Trinidad (declared World Heritage by UNESCO) is the Valley of the Sugar Mills. And next to it, there’s the awesome Playa Ancon, the most heavenly of southern Cuba. This option allows you to diversify a little your holidays to Cuba with some other activities like a peaceful walk along the valley. Also, the beach has more than 30 locations for diving along the magnificent, extensive coral reef, where lie the remains of ancient wrecks.
