In typical Disney style, it was quite a production. Three songs in total, all which focused on “dreams,” with dozens of Disney and Pixar characters. A helicopter hoisted a 16-foot champagne bottle. Not to worry, it was a plastic bottle. A real bottle was smashed on the side of the ship and then a fireworks display began.

Bob Iger, CEO of Walt Disney and Tom Staggs, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts were also part of the ceremony.

This was Disney’s first ship in over a decade. The 128,000 ton ship will hold 2,500 passengers and offer state of the art technology including a 750 ft. watercoaster, interactive art and a new French Restaurant. There ship’s maiden voyage will be on January 26, 2010. The Dream will sail on three, four and five night cruises, all leaving out of Port Canaveral.

Whether by land or sea, Disney remains the "happiest place on earth."
