"Epic" Inaugual in New York City
Norwegian Cruise Line's highly anticipated new ship, the Epic is getting its finishing touches at the shipyard in France. The ship is scheduled to be handed over to NCL on June 15th, and sail towards the U.S.
Reba McEntire will christen the line's most innovative Freestyle Cruising ship to date in New York on July 2, 2010 on board Norwegian Epic.
NCL Epic will also host the 34th Annual Macys 4th of July Fireworks show while in New York. This national, one-hour event will be televised on NBC at 9 p.m.
In addition to hosting the Macy's Fireworks broadcast, Norwegian Cruise Line is partnering with Macy's to offer a Norwegian Epic Vacation Getaway Cruise for four on board the ship as part of a national sweepstakes. Viewing information, spectator tips and fireworks event sweepstakes information will be available as of June at www.macys.com/fireworks.
The NCL Epic will sail Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises out of Miami from July through April 2011. The ship will then offer a transatlantic sailing in April and spend the summer in Europe, before returning in the fall of 2011 to offer Eastern Caribbean itineraries once again.
