My Exciting Weekend Trip to San Diego, California
I have been always fond of traveling.
I find it fun, exciting and adventurous exploring new places, learning about new cultures and meeting new people.
Living in Phoenix, Arizona, is quite a delight, and I have always enjoyed warm weather over here. In summertime though, I always try to plan a getaway or two to leave town to avoid the heat.
We are quite fortunate to live relatively close to a beautiful city of San Diego, the second largest city in California with a population of over 2 million people.
Luckily, a friend of mine invited us over to spend a 4th of July weekend on his yacht in Harbor Island in San Diego. What a joy!
6 hours of pretty scenic drive, and we are in San Diego!
What a magnificent city! 70 miles of beautiful sandy beaches and numerous world class family attractions: famous San Diego Zoo, San Diego Sea World, Wild Animal Park, California Legoland and many more.
One of my favorite places there is Balboa Park that is one of the largest urban parks in the USA. It consists of several museums, beautiful gardens including a rose garden, Globe Theaters and multiple Art Galleries.
San Diego is famous for its mild climate. Its temperature varies from 60 to 85 degrees all year round. No wonder so many people want to live there! In fact, the cost of living there is very high.
There is definitely no lack of eating establishments in San Diego. We got very fortunate to have a few meals at restaurants with the view over the Ocean and San Diego Downtown that were absolutely incredible!
Our trip was delightful, and we kept ourselves very busy until the last moment before checking out Coronado Island, Del Mar area, splendid La Jolla and historic downtown neighborhoods like Gaslamp District and Little Italy.
Fantastic fireworks over the Bay in Harbor Island were a wonderful conclusion to our 4th of July weekend.
We can not wait to go back there again next summer!
