Nice, the capital of the French Riviera is known to be a favorite tourist destination in France who are looking to take some photo-perfect postcards of this bustling resort city. The icon photo that you might capture will probably capture a long pebbled coastline dotted with iconic royal blue umbrellas and happy sunbathers, the picturesque stretch of Promenade des Anglais with its swaying palm trees and fabulous waterfront views. Indeed, it is a stunning destination, one for the eyes to feast on. However, there is more to discover in the area than just the scenic waterfront. When booking your vacation to Nice, note that July is famous for the Nice Jazz Festival, which might interest some travelers. So plan accordingly.

After you settle in and are ready to explore Nice, it is recommended that you begin your exploration from the scenic Promenade des Anglais. You can wander the palm-lined boulevard and enjoy the marvelous view of the beach as well as the charming line of lovely cafes, hotels, and villas. Make sure you pay a visit to Musee Massena where you can enjoy the beautiful gardens and learn about the history of Nice throughout the centuries. Also worth visiting are the Fine Arts Museum or Musee des Beaux Arts, the Museum of Contemporary and Modern Art, the Chagall Museum and Matisse Museum. If you do not speak French, it is best to take a friend along who does, to translate some of the exhibits for you.

Next up, you should visit the Old Town, Vieux Nice. Start at the Cour Saleya where the streets, lined with pastel colored buildings, are full of go with tourists and locals alike on their way to shop at the vibrant market overflowing with flowers and fresh produce in a riot of vibrant colors.
