Last year, the Spanish government introduced a new subsidized program for tourists over the age of 55. In Ireland only a select few travel agents were chosen to sell the program, which turned out to be very popular, and for good reason.

The program, as the title of this post suggests, is for people over the age of 55.

The Spanish government and the agents involved have chosen a number of well known hotels and resorts for the accommodation. The deal includes flights, four-star hotels (all inclusive) and transfers to and from the airport. Customers can stay from between one and four weeks and can move between different resorts and hotels, i.e. stay at one hotel for two weeks and then move to another for the remainder.

Some of the areas that are on offer are Benalmadena, Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Marbella, Costa De La Luz, Benidorm. I sent my parents away for a week and they loved it. With each meal, as part of the offer you receive a complimentary bottle of wine, which is a nice touch.

All in all the offer is fantastic and amazing value for money in these uncertain times. So I say, well done to the Spanish government for taking the initiative to create business and bolster tourist numbers.
