The Indonesian Vesak Day is Centered at Borobudur Temple.
Wesak Day is the memorial of three events at a same time - the birth, the perfect enlightenment time and the death of the Siddhartha Gautama, the key figure in Buddhism.
Wesak Day is a special day and is always celebrated by all Buddhists. In Indonesia, Wesak commemoration is held on 17th, May 2011 with the central event being held at the Borobudur Temple, a temple that is well known as one of the Eight Wonders of the World.
The event begins on Sunday, with the lighting torch in the Mrapen Eternal Fire, used as a symbol of Api Dharma Trisuci (the three devotion fire). The summit of the Wesak celebration was held on Tuesday, at 18:08:23 Indonesian time in the Borobudur Temple park.
Thousands of Buddhists joined in a world-wide meditation on the moment of Wesak. For twenty minutes they meditated together, with prayers later delivered by Sagha.
"The spirit of the Buddha within every human being can only be achieved with a perfect heart. Therefore, every human being should directing his heart correctly. Only with true heart, every human being can develop himself to be similar as the Buddha," said Widya the Chairman of the Board Kasaba Indonesian Buddhist Sangha Trust (Walubi) Bhiku Tadisa Mahasthavira Paramita, in contemplation of Wesak, Wednesday (17 / 5).
