Travel Destination Review: Koh Phangan
An exotic tropical island with wonderful nature and many waterfalls - this is Koh Phangan. There is no airport here.
After a flight to Koh Samui, you continue by ferry or boat for 20-30 minutes to reach the island. Koh Phangan is a small island with beautiful mountain relief and not so developed infrastructure. The island reminds of Koh Samui 20 years ago with its peace and quiet that rules here.
The most exotic and approaching the concepts of Heaven, is the north-east part of the island, where are the beaches Thong Nai Pan Noi and Thong Nai Pan Yai.
A unique and beautiful view will open in front of your eyes. Here you will find the best hotels on the island. The small village of Thong Nai Pan offers nice places where you can relax in tranquility and idyllic atmosphere.
There are many restaurants, bars and bistros which are made for the pleasure of visitors.
If you want to diversify your vacation a little, you should visit at least one of the wonderful waterfalls on the island. We strongly recommend you to walk around the north coast with a long-tail boat - a typical Thailand boat. Located ten to fifteen minutes from Thong Nai Pan is the beautiful Bottle Beach. This beach is surrounded by jungle and the water is crystal blue and very clean.
After this, continue walking along the west side and after about 30 minutes you will reach the island of Koh Ma and Haad Yao Beach. This beach is perfect for stretching on the white sand and relaxing or you can find some good coastal restaurants and have a meal.
Another interesting attraction can be the visit of the small island Koh Tao. You can do this with an all-day excursion or you can go alone with a ferry. The travel time is about an hour. Koh Tao is the best place in Thailand for diving and snorkeling. The coral reef here is very colorful and full of life. Particularly impressive are Jansom Bay, Mango Bay and the island of Nang Yuan. If you decide to stay there for the night, you can easily find the best hotel there, because there are a big variety of good hotels. You will also have great choice of beach restaurants and bars.
