A seasoned public relations and marketing professional, for over two decades, Karen founded Amster-Young Public Relations, Inc. (AYPR), an award-winning agency in 1992. In 2003, Karen sold the firm and continues to consult for individuals and companies. Highlights of her firm’s work include the award-winning launch of FIJI Water and ITO EN Teas®. The firm handled numerous projects and events for the American Cancer Society, the Hong Kong Tourist Association, prominent antique shows, restaurants and others. Karen was named one of the top “Forty PR Stars under Forty” by PR Week magazine and has been featured in numerous trade magazines. Karen is also a freelance writer; her articles and columns have been published in numerous magazines, predominantly in the Hamptons, including thehamptons.com and Dan’s Papers. She admits to being embarrassingly addicted to court TV shows like Judge Judy and loves watching The Bachelor and American Idol with her daughter. An avid entrepreneur, Karen is always seeking exciting business opportunities – both personally and as a consultant. She lives with her husband, ten-year old daughter and their dog Lucy in Manhattan.
