An obsessively organised chocoholic, a wife, blogger & teacher with a (mostly) positive approach to life and all the craziness that goes with it! Hi, my name is Lucy and I am a wife, primary school teacher and lover of all things baking! My husband and I live in Victoria with our beautiful golden retriever dog and our (not quite so beautiful at times!) cat. A little bit about my background… I graduated from Monash Uni with a double degree in primary education and arts, majoring in psychology. I have always loved working with kids and enjoy the challenges and successes that everyday at school brings. I think that education is something that is best shared with others! Working with amazing people has taught me so much and it seems crazy to let their wealth of knowledge go to waste! My hope is that this website can offer parents, grandparents and any other special people some great tips on helping their child learn, be successful and happy both at school and home. Don’t worry though, this website is not a preachy one! One size definitely does not fit all and while some tips may give you an ‘aha moment’, others may just not be relevant to you and your child. I also love psychology and often think about going back to uni to do some post grad study. Then I remember all of the exams, readings, lectures and tutorials that go with that idea… hmm maybe one day! Anyway, my favourite area of psychology has always been positive psychology, which focuses on the power of positive thinking, wellness and happiness. I’m very much a ‘glass half full’ kind of person (well most days at least!) and everything to do with positive psychology just makes so much sense in everyday life. My absolute favourite passion in life is baking! My love of cooking started when I was a little girl and my beautiful mum and I would bake biscuits, cakes and slices each weekend for school lunches and yummy snacks! Most of the time I love eating healthy and clean and have even started getting into juicing. But seriously… give me a rich chocolate brownie, tangy lemon slice, choc chip cookie or a raspberry muffin smothered in cream cheese and I’m like a pig in mud! I suppose my food philosophy is to eat healthy 90% of the time and indulge in deliciousness 10% of the time (ok… ok… maybe a little more than 10%). I started this website as I felt I needed a change in my life and saw this as a great new adventure, a place to meet people, share some of the things I have learnt through teaching and most importantly to have a great excuse to bake, take photos and share some yummy recipes with other like-minded people. I hope you enjoy my website as much as I have enjoyed setting it up! Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook too. In the meantime… sit back, have a cuppa, eat some cake and read through some of my ramblings!
