Craig is a privacy, secrecy, and social media researcher pursuing his PhD in Information Studies at UT Austin. Craig teaches undergraduate classes on Social Media and Privacy and the Internet and Public Policy. Craig has numerous professional and academic publications and presentations including his latest co-authored book chapter titled “Privacy in Times of War”. In 2010 he authored a chapter titled “Getting Management Buy-In” in a book titled IT Security Metrics published by McGraw Hill. Craig started a policy, technology, and social media analysis blog called the New Tech Observer (newtechobserver.com) as a way to keep up with the rapid changes in technology and privacy policy, and a place to make some of his policy analysis public for others to use. Craig has fifteen years experience working in information technology in leadership positions ranging from web development to information security and policy to user services, and he holds both security and ITIL certifications.
