My unremitting quest for truth began in my high school years with a somewhat typical out-of-the-box into-the-other-box "born again" experience - although I had been baptized Lutheran as an infant, and descended from a Lutheran minister father and Lutheran minister grandfathers on both sides. At the time, I felt that I could help God change the world as a police officer. After a semester in police school, however, I decided that I could do more good as a teaching minister. So I entered Wisconsin Lutheran College, and completed my academic training at Dr. Martin Luther College. But before I graduated, I discovered that I would have been doing little to change the world for the better in that environment as well. So I had my name taken off of the call list, and got involved in politics. I began to do extensive research, which I intended to include in a massive publication of information sources for Christians. I quickly discovered the flawless morality of libertarianism, but was troubled by one noteworthy contradiction in Libertarian politics: It justifies the aggression of compulsory taxation to fund protection against other forms of aggression. That's when I fully realized that the compulsory state itself is the enemy of civilization. One can not be forced to defend oneself. At that moment, my battle against Leviathan found its true focus - 27 years ago. My just-published magnum opus, "Instead of Politics: Civilization 101" takes a surgeon's knife to every justification for the state, and attacks each one at the root. It shows why every flavor of politics is not only evil, but entirely unnecessary. It demonstrates beyond a shadow of a doubt that politics is not the cure to the ills of society, but the cause.
