During my 30+ year career, I have accumulated a diverse background in manufacturing, consulting and IT leadership. After receiving my Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma, I started my manufacturing career in the chemical industry with companies like Dow Chemical, Hoechst AG and Kaiser Aluminum. My career focused on manufacturing and engineering operations. Subsequent years added experience in engineering and IT consulting helping clients map business needs to technology tools. Recently, I lead all the IT organizations, manufacturing laboratories, process engineering groups and advanced process control group at Sterling Chemicals. During my time in product management at Aspen Technology, I participated in the use of the RUP methodology. I saw how it was used as a core part of the culture as well as the core business process. It became obvious that this approach could be extended for use outside the software development world. I used this diversity of experience to invent the SLR methodology, using the best of the major successful methodologies from manufacturing and software development. This unique approach brings a methodology that can identify real, practical opportunity to benefit my clients by improving their business processes.
