Maya has written for Smart Energy Living, Washington Post Express, US News & World Report, Crested Butte News, the Gunnison Country Times and the Oberlin Review, including columns about European fashion, food and chips. Maya is a regular blogger for the Office for Resource Efficiency and for her own Living Genius project. She has published in the Plum Creek Review and Chicken Soup for the College Student's Soul. Maya studied Creative Writing at Oberlin College, earning the 2008 Diane Vreuls Fiction Prize and completing the first draft of a novel. She is now working on "Facing a Parent's Cancer", a Guide for Teens (Sourcebooks, Inc., 2012).
