Mia Wenjen

I blog on education, parenting and children's literature as the result of a very bad year that my oldest (now in 6th grade) had in 1st grade. Two years of catch-up resulting in a crash course for me in teaching phonics, math, and reading comprehension to my child at home but it was worth it. I also rediscovered my love of children's literature in the process and focus on finding great books for kids, particularly reluctant readers, and books with math, science, special needs, anti-bullying, and people of color themes.
