Raymond TayDateline: Serve, Learn & Lead with Raymond Tay
Over the 8 years of serving St. John Ambulance Brigade, Raymond Tay had completed various leadership courses (Junior NCO, Senior NCO and Officer Training Courses) and held many key positions like Camp Commandant, Training Officer and Inter-Corps Games’ Day Organizer for 10 schools. Due to his outstanding performance, Eagle Award, Colours Award and Friend of the School were presented to him. After his SJAB service, he joined Tiarel Toastmasters Club and took up the role of a Vice-President (Membership), and helped to organize public speaking events like Language Evaluation workshop and Speech Contests. Graduated with a Diploma in Business Process & Systems Engineering with Merit and Gold Medal (Top Student) from Temasek Polytechnic, Raymond obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) from National University of Singapore. In NUS, he was involved in Project SELF as a mentor to Secondary School students in BEYOND Social Services for Financial Literacy. Through the Spirit of Enterprise (SOE), he interviewed successful entrepreneurs and also was part of SOE Student Alumni EXCO to organise forums like “Celebpreneur Uncovered”. Raymond has completed a 12-hr Mental Health First Aid course under Changi General Hospital to provide help to a person developing a mental health problem. Other professional development courses Raymond attended include Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective College Students, Eric Jensen’s Learning Skills & Engagement for Underperforming Students, DHL Inhouse Consulting’s Effective Top Management Communication and Safety & Crisis Planning & Management. Till date, he has trained and helped over 2,500 individuals in primary & secondary schools and organizations.
