Rob HurlbutDateline: Photography & Stories From Around The World
I’m a guerrilla photographer. That means I am a minimalist when it comes to gear I carry into the field and it also means that gear I carry with me must have purpose and meaning for my immediate photographic needs. I carry my camera everywhere all the time, so I get that uneasy feeling shared by gunfighters and swordsmen of the past when a situation arises that requires us to leave our accoutrements behind. This blog is not linear. This blog is a way to keep my photos and words from ending up in a shoe box. The internet and blogs are as “forever” as it gets for us right now, so when I post I feel like I’m placing an intricate piece in a great pyramid that will bear my name, tell my version of history and will last forever. The stories come from the photos I take and I take photos everywhere, so that’s where the blog is; everywhere.
