I'm with Andrew Malcolm. How did we miss this the first time around? Actually, I know why. Watching C-SPAN for long hours on end can cause one to go comatose.

But the LA Times blogger was sifting through C-SPAN's video archives (over 30 years of mesmerizing coverage!) and didn't have to look too far into the wayback machine to find the honorable Senator from Minnesota, Al Franken, explain his amendment to Christopher Dodd's bill that will address issues with credit rating agencies. To help illustrate his point, he blows up and pays homage to Washington Post cartoonist Tom Toles, who illustrated the problem himself. See the little fish heads on the ice? You don't want that.

I hope further C-SPAN coverage is filled with senators making their point by referencing XKCD cartoons. Because I'm a visual learner.
