If there is one group of people who remained with their jaws open in disbelief for a generation about America’s obsession with the private lives of their leaders, it must be the French!
Now they are baffled by the demand by the Americans that one of their leaders get counseling, just for bearing his body and engaging in what everyone else enjoy doing on any social website!
The Anthony Weiner scandal has taken the French and the rest of the world by surprise and questions about where the US is heading for with its passion for scandals.
Does the whole thing even qualify to be called a scandal, taking up so much of valuable time in the media?
From gossiping about the shenanigans of the Kennedy clan to forcing Bill Clinton to discredit himself on national and international TV, passing judgment on the morality of political figures has been the favorite pass time of an entire generation.

Anthony Weiner scandal must be the last straw for the French who are appalled and shocked by what has happened to their most popular presidential nominee during a short trip to the USA.
Privacy of the individual is sacrosanct in France! Being a President or a presidential candidate is not reason enough the French will allow you to encroach upon it. It is synonymous with Liberty and human dignity to the extent that a president who was elected for two terms of fourteen long years lived with a second wife and a daughter in total anonymity.
