Anti-Christian Rabbi Uses Tebow To Espouse Hate

No matter what anyone says, bigotry and hate can appear from anyone, at anytime from any background.
Imagine the shock when I read an online column on The Jewish Week website which espoused Christian hate using football Tim Tebow as the vehicle. Not only was this on a Jewish site, but it was written by a Rabbi.
What the hell is going on?
In his post entitled My Tim Tebow Problem, the hateful Rabbi Joshua Hammerman used the faith of the Denver Bronco star as a way to suggest religious violence would ensue at the hands of Tebow’s Christian fans. Not only that, Hammerman used so many ugly and hateful stereotypes, I don’t even want to give them space here.
Perhaps one of the most egregious missives from the Rabbi, this intolerant miscreant stated:
“If Tebow wins the Super Bowl, against all odds, it will buoy his faithful, and emboldened faithful can do insane things, like burning mosques, bashing gays and indiscriminately banishing immigrants. While America has become more inclusive since Jerry Falwell’s first political forays, a Tebow triumph could set those efforts back considerably.”
What? This is supposedly a man of God? Are you kidding me?
As I mentioned in a previous piece on the attacks against Tim Tebow due to his strong faith, I’m again proven right. This is the most despicable of the attacks on both Tebow and his faith yet. Not to mention anyone from the South.
Hammerman again gives us all a glimpse of the hate that surrounds us from time to time. I for one am glad he wrote it for it exposes a hateful, spiteful, ignorant man who will undoubtedly get his in the afterlife.
No Rabbi Hammerman, you don’t have a Tim Tebow problem. You have a hate problem.
I would hope my Jewish brothers and sisters, and the congregation at the Temple Beth El in Stamford, CT, where Hammerman works, will denounce this hate speech and call it what it is.
