Congresswoman Giffords Able To Respond To Simple Commands
According to CNN reports in Tuscon, Arizona, U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is able to communicate by following simple commands. That's a wonderful sign as Giffords was shot point blank in the head promoting a 'Congress On Your Corner' event.

Giffords remained in critical condition Sunday morning after a gunman shot her in the head and then opened fire on a crowd at a political meet-and-greet outside an Arizona supermarket.
The shooting killed six people, including a federal judge and a 9-year-old girl, and wounded 14 others, authorities said.
Two people tackled the suspected shooter, stopping a spray of bullets that turned a event in Tucson into what President Barack Obama later described as an "unspeakable tragedy."
Local authorities took custody of 22-year-old suspect Jared Lee Loughner at the scene, law enforcement sources said. The Pima County Sheriff's Department said the suspect had been transferred to FBI custody.
Early Sunday morning, investigators released a surveillance photo of a man between 40 and 50 years old who is "possibly associated with the suspect."
Yahoo reports that Daniel Hernandez, a 20 year old University of Arizona intern of Giffords only on the job for 5 days, may have actually saved her life by his quick aide. He held her head and applied pressure to the head wound, and held her hand as the medical crew were taking her to the ambulance.
At this time, the assailant, Jared Loughner, is in FBI custody. The Bureau also still seeks this 'man of interest' that could have had a possible hand in the Safeway tragedy at this time.
Four others that were taken to the hospital are listed in serious condition.
Our prayers and thoughts go out to all of the families that lost their loved ones in this mindless act of violence.
