CPAC Teleprompter Used For Teleprompter Jokes
Among all the valid criticisms of President Obama's administration, the one I've never understood is the meme surrounding his need to conduct speeches with a magical device that displays words for a man to read in case he forgets them. That's like hounding a humble political editor for using spellcheck instead of a dictionary, or undergoing years and years of memorization.
But the conservative phalanx of ideologues love the joke, and a solid joke is a terrible thing to waste.
The Conservative Political Action Conference kicked off this morning with several speakers chipping away at White House policy and why Democrats are bad for your health. Excessive riffing was done on Obama's teleprompter addiction, but the twist is that the CPAC speakers were making such jokes ... while using teleprompters.
Perhaps handwritten notes aren't such a bad idea after all.
