Due to redistricting, where exactly Dennis Kucinich would eventually wind up has been a mystery.

Tonight the mystery is solved and Dennis Kucinich will not be a member of Congress in 2013.

After considering running in Washington State, Kucinich had decided to enter the race for Ohio's 9th district. He could have not asked for a tougher opponent than 15 term Congresswoman Kaptur.

Kaptur and Kucinich, who has served in Congress since 1996, could agree on many things and their respective political ideology was actually rather similar.

Kaptur had the advantage going in because she had served a larger percentage of the district than Kucinich and this was more than enough to handle the nationwide prominence and celebrity of Kucinich.

Kaptur beat Kucinich by several thousand votes and has won the honor of facing Republican Candidate Samuel Wurzelbacher aka "Joe the Plumber" in November.
