Disney Aims to Trademark Navy "SEALS Team 6" to Sell Products
Disney filed an application the day after Osama Bin Laden was killed to trademark the Navy Seals "SEAL Team 6" to sell on their products. Only a truly sick company could manipulate the sentiment of Americans into buying Christmas ornaments and dolls of the soldiers who took out the most wanted man in the entire world.
This is one of the most disgusting displays profiteering due to war efforts that I've ever heard of. My question is how can the US government be okay with a company attempting to trademark the accomplishments of those men to risked their lives to kill this evil man? Even more so, how would those soldiers feel about Disney making a buck off civil service they've dedicated their lives to?
I hope this exploitation is denied and these men are simply honored rather than made into cash cows by the asinine corporation of Disney. Otherwise, what kind of message does that send to American kids and military families about the greatness of America? For kids, will we teach them that you can and should make money off the accomplishments of other patriotic Americans serving with their lives? And for military families, that they are warned that they may be capitalized on as any private company sees fit?
This entire idea is repulsive and I am glad to join those who are boycotting Disney now. No cheaply made, overpriced plastic toys, ornaments, ugly shirts or outrageous fees into crowded amusement parks or subpar/par movies for me. You're just not worth it, Disney for more reasons than this. This is merely the icing on the cake.
