Financial Overhaul Nothing More Than Government Power Grab
Just as with the now infamous Obamacare health bill, Congress is again attempting to pass over 2,000 pages of legislation aimed at "overhauling" the financial system to prevent recessions like the one we now find ourselves in.
In just two short years, Americans have seen the largest expanse of government power in the modern age. President Obama and his fellow Democrats have
done everything they can - in plain sight - to seize new powers for the federal government above and beyond what it needs. This should scare all of us, no matter what party you vote with.
This latest financial overhaul bill is perhaps the most egregious piece of legislation that threatens capitalism in America since said health care bill.
Connecticut Senator Christopher Dodd, who helped create the financial meltdown, is brazen enough to tell Americans to be quiet and just wait.
"No one will know until this is actually in place how it works," Dodd said. "But we believe we've done something that has been needed for a long time. It took a crisis to bring us to the point where we could actually get this job done."
Yes, Sen. Dodd, it took incompetence and corruption on your part and your banking committee to actually bring our system to its knees, only to cover your own culpability with Draconian legislation. Not only that, these guys are so dense they don't know how the thing will work.
When are Americans going to wake up and throw all of these self-important bums - Democrats and Republicans - out?
This latest power grab - under the guise of reforming the banking industry - will forever alter the way money flows through the American economy. And, despite our troubles the past two years, the system works and recessions and contractions are natural.
We can't let government alter our economic system forever. If we do, one day we'll wake up and regret that we let clowns like Dodd and his posse send us to continued financial ruin under an increasingly oppressive and powerful government.
