Has The Obama Tidal Wave Begun?
The latest news is that President Barack Obama is leading GOP nominee Mitt Romney in New Hampshire, Nevada and North Carolina, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin. To some of my liberal friends this may sound sweet and they may feel that it's time to relax, but I say don’t be fooled by this early lead. Now is the time to redouble our efforts and be resolute to continue our efforts to urge people to vote for the progressive candidates. Karl Rove has Koch brothers and other billionaire’s unlimited money, enough to flood the air-waves with false advertisement and twisted facts.
In so many states the Republicans are playing dirty games to disenfranchise voters. They talk of voter fraud while they execute electoral fraud. They are in record of stealing two elections with electoral frauds in Florida and Ohio, yet they keep on crying foul in the name of voter fraud. If you want to understand why the GOP is so gripped with voter fraud think of Paul Weyrich, who is considered as the father of the right-wing movement.
In the 198o’s Weyrich said, “Now many of our Christians have what I call the goo-goo syndrome—good government. They want everybody to vote. I don’t want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of people, they never have been from the beginning of our country and they are not now. As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.”
GOP will play every tricks in their sleeves to steal the November election, since—as I have repeatedly been saying—the coming election will be a watershed for the USA.
It is time for the progressives to sharpen their vigil, and get united behind President Obama. Just winning the White House is not enough, a Democratic majority in the Senate and House is a precondition to move away from the culture of "do nothing" congress, and bring real changes in the country that Obama has promised.
