Hugo Chavez Vies To Be President of Twitter
El Presidente isn't content with simply running Venezuela. Next step: the world ... of Twitter. And then maybe the world.
Hugo Chavez announced through his disciples that he'll sign up for Twitter. (Now's the time to start squatting on potential screennames!) His intent will be to spread his message of peace, freedom, and what the government can do for you. His other goal? To be the popular belle at the policeman's ball:
Comandante Chávez is going to open his Twitter account soon to wage the battle online. I’m sure he’ll break records for numbers of followers.He's got a ways to go to beat Ashton, but maybe he can break the "fastest to un millón" record, whatever it may be. He could also make Globovisión's list of followers look like the lunch rush at a poorly-located Arby's. He cannot be stopped. Unless, of course, he begins engaging in flamewars with American capitalists.
