I grew up in a run-down trailer in a single-parent household on the remnants of a failed family farm.  I know a thing or two about being poor.  I’ve had plenty of the jobs “Americans won’t do,” and twice I’ve turned on the television only to see one of my former occupations featured in an episode of Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe.

Here’s a funny thing about the bottom.  I can’t say I’ve seen many liberals there.  I know plenty of people who vote for the Democrats, and I voted for Bill Clinton twice.  I’m talking about real leftists.  Those foot-stomping spoiled children who seem to post so frequently here.  The same ones who love articles about punching conservatives in the nose but would wet themselves if they ever got in a real fight.

They seem to think anybody who doesn’t agree with them is just some dumb hick.  We’re uneducated bumpkins, and all we need is a good lecture from a smarmy white liberal to make us see the light.

There’s a great line from Lewis Black.  “The only thing dumber than a Republican or a Democrat, is when these two pricks work together!”  He’s right.  Both parties have developed competing but symbiotic agendas, and scoring political points is all that matters.  I don’t know the current score, but I know the middle class is losing.

There’s no great secret as to what needs to be done.  It’s pretty clear how to build an economic powerhouse.  America did it once, and China dusted off the blue-print.  It’s strange how the economic world’s biggest riser has thrown off the shackles of socialism just as we seem to be putting them on.
