Is Obama A Muslim? So Say Mississippi And Alabama
Fifty-two percent people in Mississippi said President Barack Obama is a Muslim, according to a recent poll among probable Republican voters.
Mississippi has earned that dubious title of the most ignorant state of the nation by virtue of a survey conducted by Public Policy Polling. Alabama is not far behind. Forty-five percent of likely Republican voters responded to the same poll indicating that he is a Muslim; only fourteen percent said that they considered him a Christian.
Obama is a practicing Christian, and was a member of Trinity United Church in Chicago before he was president. The Republicans wasted no opportunity to smear mud on Obama during his Presidential campaign using his connection with Pastor Jeremiah Wright. Because of the relentless onslaught of the right-wing Republicans the candidate Obama had to denounce Jeremiah, and soon Jeremiah retired after 36 years as the Senior Pastor of his congregation.
Where these ignorant GOP supporters from Mississippi and Alabama were at that time? Where do they get their facts (?) from? Of course, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity et al are doing a fine job of misrepresentation for which they are famed.
Why, even in the year 2012 the Republicans are playing race card against Obama? Why do they hate him so much? Is it because he is black, his father was a Muslim, or, because he is the most intelligent and articulate politician the nation has seen after J. F. Kennedy?
Only the other day John Boehner said that this congress has some of the most "stupid people among its members". For once, many progressives had an opportunity to agree with Boehner.
Stupid people can only elect stupid lawmakers.
