Joe Stack Shows How A Suicide Note Is Done
In two ways, Joe Stack hit the bullseye on Thursday.
More macabrely, he navigated a plane directly into the side of an IRS building, (presumably) killing himself and injuring more than a dozen. But secondly, this politically motivated crime of terrorism also gave his "dying declaration" blog post an infinite amount of traffic, which is coincidentally the goal of any rational blogger who wishes to remain alive and not try to kill anybody.
What they are dubbing The Joe Stack Manifesto is featured across newspaper websites and the mainstream media, ripe for pundits to digest and decide whether or not he was a right-wing extremist or a left-wing loon. His arguments about health care, the government, the tax code, and capitalism as a whole are being dissected, discussed, and rebutted.
It's so refreshing to see how far we've come as a society that we're finally giving validation to the thoughts of a man who flew a plane into one of our buildings. Nine years ago we wouldn't have gone point/counterpoint on Mohammed Atta's opinion of America.
