Mario Monti has come back even stronger after his trip to the United States. He gained a fundamental support for his political action in Italy by President Barack Obama and many other members of the U.S. economy and finance. He wanted to have the support of the most powerful nation in the world and the financial center of the globe.

Monti’s tenacity and ability is struggling to restore to Italy its lost credibility. Not only of Berlusconi’s guilty, but decades of unnecessary government spending, waste of the money-state, bureaucratic’s slowness, statal interference in the market that have progressively burdened the public debt and slowed economic growth. Now not only Italy has a good leader but also Europe, as indicated and called by the cover of Time magazine.

His fame and prestige have been recognized by the President Barack Obama at the White House and Wall Street’s offices, too. In a few months, about three, he has given a boost in political, economic and social development of our country. The action of his government, gained the unanimous consent of the other ministers who have worked with coherence and synergy, is changing Italy. The Italians are accustomed to hard to have a government that decides quickly and with absolute competence measures to be implemented. It is true that a so called ‘technical’ government, in the sense that it was not voted by the citizens, but has been called on to accommodate the dramatic and severe economic and political situation of the country. The fights and vetoes lobbies have blocked Italy.

Financial speculation has focused on us as early as this summer by increasing progressively the attacks to bring up to 7% interest on 10 years btp and the spread of the German over 500 points, a level very close to the critical national default. Already, the U.S. Ambassador David Thorne had spent praised "the Government's action Monti, in a few months, has implemented important measures to restore public finances under control," and he hoped that in all of Europe " will create the preconditions for growth, because the austerity alone is not enough."

Italy has a great history and a great responsibility to carry out firmly the ambitious EU project. The story is not yet complete because, as Cavour said in 1870, "after Italy must make Italians". Something serious is happening. There are signs of an attitude toward corruption, civic need to pay taxes, to seek meritocracy in career and competence in the job.
