Mitt Romney Suggests Newt Gingrich Is a Wuss
Mitt Romney, a republican running for the nomination for President of the United States, has a big message for little Newt Gingrich. Mr. Gingrich is also running for the nomination for President.
At the Stage Restaurant in Keene, New Hampshire, Mitt Romney told reporters that he is “a big boy.” In regards to the complaints by Newt Gingrich about the onslaught of negative campaign ads, Mr. Romney said, “That's the nature of a campaign, to point out distinctions with one another.”
Repeating this statement on Fox News and MSNBC, Mr. Romney said, “and with regards to the heat associated with ads, you know, if you can't stand the relatively modest heat in the kitchen right now wait until Obama's hell's kitchen shows up.”
Newt Gingrich has repeatedly called on Mitt Romney to stop the negative campaigning, but Mr. Romney claims he is not in charge of the advertisements. On today's campaign trail, super PAC's have no limits on campaign donations and are prohibited from coordinating with the campaigns.
However, Mr. Romney has not publicly asked for the negative ads to cease. Moreover, with the combination of the two remarks about being “a big boy” and the “heat in the kitchen”, Mr. Romney is in effect calling Mr. Gingrich a wuss.
